Do you have experience with intercultural exchange programs, either as a student or host family? Do you want to use that experience to help others and make a difference in the world? Youth for Understanding (YFU) is looking for volunteers to help facilitate orientations for our students, parents, and host families.
YFU is one of the world's largest and most respected international exchange organizations. Our exchange programs include both American and international students in over 60 countries worldwide!
Facilitators will lead discussions and activities based on YFU USA's well-established curriculum for various participants including students, parents, and host families. YFU USA offers multiple types of orientations that take place throughout the year. These are designed to give participants the tools they need to have a healthy and successful exchange experience. As a facilitator, you are meant to guide participants, prompt discussion, and be a first-level resource.

A non-profit international educational organization with partners in more than 60 different countries, Youth For Understanding is one of the world’s oldest, largest and most respected intercultural exchange program. More than 250,000 students and their host families have benefited from the support and expertise of YFU. The YFU global network is united by the belief that full cultural immersion is the most effective means to gain the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly multicultural, interconnected and competitive global society. YFU is different from other intercultural exchange organizations because of our thorough preparation and program support that’s backed by a global team of volunteers, Our volunteers run orientations, conduct interviews, support students and serve as a YFU ambassador within their own communities. When you join YFU, you become a part of a 1500 volunteers nationwide who help students grow and discover their inner selves.
