Want to help monitor local preserves in the Palos Verdes Peninsula? Interested in educating others on how to safely enjoy the trails and natural areas? Become a Trail Watch Volunteer and make a difference on the trails!

VOLUNTEER ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Get Certified: Attend 2 training sessions (must sign up for and attend both) and one training hike
- Visit the preserve at least 4 hours a month as a volunteer for a minimum of one year
- Educate users in proper etiquette on marked trails
- Offer assistance to those who are lost, need water, etc.
- Submit reports online of what you see and hear to help the Conservancy and City maintain the trails

Saturday November 16th, 9AM - 12PM AND Saturday November 23rd, 9AM - 12PM. You must attend both training dates.

This is an 18 and over volunteer opportunity. Volunteers must commit to a live scan (background check) for this program.

The mission of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy (PVPLC) is to "preserve land and restore habitat for the education and enjoyment of all."

Description

The Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy (PVPLC) manages over 1600 acres of open space on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, and two nature centers with native plant demonstration gardens. The PVPLC engages volunteers in the development and maintenance of native plant gardens in order to demonstrate how gardening with native plants is beneficial for the environment.
