Board Member - ACYR
Organization Overview: At ACYR (Arizona Center for Youth Resources), we are dedicated to empowering youth and strengthening our community through innovative programs and services. As a nonprofit organization committed to fostering growth, resilience, and opportunity, we strive to create a supportive environment where all individuals can build their Pathway to Success through education, skill building and employment.
Position: We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Board of Directors. Board members play a crucial role in guiding the strategic direction of our organization, ensuring accountability, and driving positive change in the lives of youth and families in our community.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with fellow board members to establish and review the organization's mission, vision, and strategic goals.
Provide oversight and guidance on financial matters, including budgeting, fundraising, and resource allocation.
Contribute expertise and insights in areas such as governance, marketing, or community engagement.
Act as ambassadors for ACYR, advocating for our mission and building relationships with stakeholders, donors, and community partners.
Attend and actively participate in board meetings, committee meetings, and other organizational events.
Qualifications:
Passion for youth empowerment and community development.
Previous board or leadership experience in nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, or related fields is recommended but not required.
Expertise in areas such as finance, fundraising, marketing, governance, IT, legal or program management.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

For over thirty-five years, ACYR has equipped young people with academic, vocational, and social skills by offering opportunities to claim their individual potential, secure their economic future and transition to the roles required of responsible adulthood. ACYR is recognized locally and nationally for providing programs of high quality and accountability, specifically designed to address the education and workforce development needs of young people who have dropped out of school or whose life circumstances make them at risk of not completing high school. Over 91% of program participants either remain in school, complete high school or its equivalent, or enter postsecondary education and/or employment. ACYR graduates annually earn over $2.5 million, contributing to a robust and vital community.
