ORGANIZATION: ST FRANCIS ANIMAL RESCUE OF VENICE INC

Are you passionate about helping cats in need? Join us in our mission to end the overpopulation of cats and kittens in our community through TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return)! We’re looking for dedicated volunteers to assist in safely trapping feral cats and kittens for TNVR.

No experience? No problem! One of our experienced trappers will mentor you and provide all the training needed. This is a rewarding way to make a real difference in the lives of these animals and to support humane, effective population control.

What to Expect:

  • Help humanely trap feral cats and kittens
  • Learn TNVR techniques with guidance from experienced mentors
  • Transport the cats and kittens to a spay/neuter clinic in Port Charlotte, FL
  • Contribute to a program that directly impacts cat welfare in our community

If you're interested in joining our efforts or would like more information, please reach out. Together, we can create a healthier, more balanced community for cats and humans alike!

About ST FRANCIS ANIMAL RESCUE OF VENICE INC

Location:

1925 S TAMIAMI TRL, VENICE, FL 34293, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to rescue and care for homeless cats & kittens until we find them loving homes.

Description

St. Francis Animal Rescue of Venice, Inc. (SFAR) was founded in 1992 when a devoted group of cat loving women banded together to feed and spay/neuter a colony of feral cats living by the beach in Nokomis, FL. These women recognized that there was a need to help abandoned and homeless cats in the community. SFAR operates solely from private donations and proceeds from our Thrift Store. We currently have an ongoing need for volunteers willing to help in our adoption center where we have 30 - 50 cats and kittens available for adoption at any given time. We also have a permanent sanctuary which houses approximately 35 permanent resident cats. Volunteers provide these cats with regular social enrichment. Our Thrift Store is vital to the operation of our shelter as all proceeds, less operating expenses, go directly to the care of our adoptable and permanent resident cats. Numerous volunteer opportunities exist at our store for people interested in having less direct contact with, but still having a direct impact on, our cats.
