Mission
Realizing Children’s Strengths (RCS) Learning Center is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide the highest quality of individualized behavioral and educational services for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. We believe that every child has unique skills and we are dedicated to helping each child develop these skills and reach their full potential.
Educational Philosophy
RCS Learning Center is committed to creating a school wide environment that exceeds the standards for teaching students with Autism effectively. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the major treatment methodology, with an emphasis on the Verbal Behavior Model for teaching communication and language skills. Instruction is provided across a variety of environments and therapists in order to promote generalization of skills from the school environment to home and community settings.

Position Summary:
As a Board Member of RCS Learning Center, you will play a crucial role in guiding the organization toward achieving its goals. You will collaborate with fellow board members to provide strategic leadership, promote community engagement, and enhance our fundraising efforts. Your expertise and network will be invaluable in attracting resources and support for our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Board Meetings: Attend quarterly board meetings to discuss organizational strategy, policies, and performance.
- Task Forces: Join and actively participate in Task Forces and/or Committees aligned with your strengths and interests to drive specific initiatives.
- Mission Support: Advocate for and support the overall mission of RCS, ensuring alignment with our values and goals.
- Fundraising Activities: Engage in fundraising efforts, including identifying potential donors and sponsors, and participating in fundraising events.
- Community Engagement: Attend a few key events per year to represent RCS and foster connections within the community.
- Networking: Reach out to your personal and professional networks to encourage involvement and support for RCS.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record of leadership in professional, non-profit, or community organizations.
- Ability to attract and engage well-qualified individuals to support RCS initiatives.
- Personal qualities of integrity, inclusivity, and a genuine passion for the progress and success of students with autism.
- Self-motivated and proactive in identifying and utilizing your strengths to benefit RCS.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
