· Seeking native English speakers to join us for "Tea and Talk" every Thursday from 11:00am-12:15pm at the Nashua Adult Learning Center! Volunteers will bring a light snack to share and gather around small tables with English Language Learners for guided group conversation. This is an informal, non-judgmental way for students to practice English conversation. No previous experience necessary - just a patient, friendly disposition and the desire to help a newcomer feel comfortable communicating in English!

About Nashua Adult Learning Center

Location:

4 Lake Street, Nashua, NH 03060, US

Mission Statement

Our tutorial program, in conjunction with or in place of classes, is offered to both English as a Second Language (ESL) and Adult Basic Education students. The adult ESL students range from just beginning to speak/understand English, to almost fluent. The ESL students generally want to work to improve their pronunciation, general conversation skills, and ability to read and write correctly in English. They also need someone to answer cultural questions. Most of our Adult Education students need help with math, writing, or reading. They are either trying to get their high school equivalency or building up their skills so they can go to college.

Description

Nashua ALC primarily provides classes to ESL adults looking to improve their English language ability. We also have classes for adults who need assistance in improving their reading, writing and math skills. Most of these student are working toward obtaining their High School Equivalency or want to improve their skills before beginning their higher education.
