In January 2024, Animal House Project added Diane's Pet Supplies & Adoption Center located at 1486 South Hanover Street; Pottstown, PA 19465 to our programs. They have operated a rescue adoption facility since 1989 and thousands of rescue dogs, cats, birds, reptiles and small animals have been placed into loving homes.
Our Rescue and Adoption Center has grown and we are looking for volunteers to help walk and socialize our rescue dogs as well as some light kennel duties to help compliment the team that we currently have.
We guarantee that this position will keep both you and our pups healthy and happy! This is an integral part of our kennel team by ensuring that all of our dogs receive exercise and socialization.
Dog walkers must be able to handle large strong and stressed dogs and walk on different terrains in all types of weather. Training includes shadowing one of our long time team members.
This position, if interested may include helping our kennel cleaning staff.

Description
Did You Know?
Of the many millions of dogs and cats surrendered to shelters or abandoned each year in the United States, approximately one million surrenders/abandonments were due to the owners financial inability to provide for the basic needs of their pets; pet food and veterinary care.
Have you ever wondered what would happen if you had to surrender your family pet(s) to a shelter simply because you could not afford to feed or provide basic veterinary care for them?
*Approximately 50% of pets surrendered to shelters never find a new home, and sadly, are euthanized.*
Our demographics - Who do we help?
Returning military veterans and their families; retired military veterans and seniors who are living on a fixed income; domestic violence families; medically stressed families - Cancer; Parkinson; ALS; MS and families that are still struggling from the recent COVID-19 Pandemic. We cut across all sectors of the populations and the need seems to be increasing not decreasing in people needing our help.
