If you want to gain experience building and maintaining a website for a nonprofit, this might be the role for you! The KLM Foundation is seeking an entry-level web support specialist to develop and maintain its web presence.

The Web Support Specialist is a volunteer (unpaid) reporting to the Board's executive/governance committee and is essential to ensuring an effective web presence for the foundation as well as communication with/connection to the communities it supports.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Ensuring the foundation's website content and functionality remain updated at all times
  • Proposing new website providers/hosts to the committee and Board
  • Providing suggestions and ideas to attract new traffic to the website
  • Managing incoming website contact submissions
  • Troubleshooting and resolving website technical issues
  • Effectively communicating identified issues/resolutions to the committee and Board
  • Reporting website metrics to committee and Board
  • Providing user training for other existing support platforms, if applicable
  • Understanding and supporting the foundation’s mission, purpose, and policies
  • Supporting designated events and initiatives, as applicable
  • Attending regular board meetings and training as required

Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have basic computer skills
  • Have basic web support experience and knowledge of terminology
  • Be a friendly, compassionate, leader
  • Have excellent communication and writing skills
  • Have excellent time management skills
  • Speak fluent English
  • Be passionate about community service and philanthropy
  • Commit to at least 1-2 hours of service per month, where necessary
  • Commit to at least 2 years as a volunteer

This opportunity may be used for course credit and may be performed anywhere within the United States. All candidates must reside within the United States.

NOTE: We cannot support international volunteers or court appointed community service goals.
