Prescott/Prescott Valley Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community Smoke Alarm Walk

The Arizona Burn Foundation is partnering with the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority, Arizona Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and American Red Cross to educate the community, reduce the risk of house fires, and save lives! With your help, we are installing specialised Deaf and Hard of hearing smoke alarm systems including the smoke alarm, bed shaker, and strobe light at no cost in homes of residents who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.

Date: Friday, November 22, 2024

Time: 8:00am - 12:00pm

Meeting Location: Coming Soon! (In Prescott or Prescott Valley, AZ)

Why Your Involvement Matters: With your support, we aim to install speciliaed smoke alarms at no cost to residents who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing, unable to hear a standard smoke alarm. This is an opportunity to directly impact our community and contribute to creating safer living environments for those who need it most.

The Arizona Burn Foundation is a valley based non-profit agency dedicated to improving the quality of life of burn survivors and their families and to promoting burn prevention advocacy and education in Arizona.

Description

A Valley based non-profit that porvides support to the burn survivor community and burn prevention education throughout communities in the state of Arizona.

We provide emotional and financial support to families during the intial Crisis Care of patients in the Arizona Burn Center; support services to survivors once they are dismissed from the hospital; and camps and retreats to help with continued emotional and psyhchological support for the burn survivors and their families.

Provide Burn Prevention programs such as: Free Smoke Alarm Installation events in high-risk or at-risk neighborhoods. Free materials for Hospital parent education classes. Burn Prevention educaiotn programs in preschools, schools, and senior centers.
