The Academic Support and Services Coordinator will serve as a leader in fostering academic growth and professional development for students involved with The Medica Zone. This role involves organizing educational events, creating opportunities for student development, and providing tailored academic support to help students thrive, particularly in healthcare-related fields. The Coordinator will be instrumental in researching and implementing initiatives that align with the organization’s mission to empower students.
Responsibilities: 1. Academic Leadership and Support- Act as a front-runner in supporting students in their pursuit of academic excellence and healthcare career development.
- Provide personalized academic guidance and support to The Medica Zone members.
- Research and locate academic resources, programs, and opportunities that align with students' professional goals.
- Brainstorm, plan, and host academic events designed to further educate and support students in their academic and professional journeys.
- Coordinate workshops, seminars, and other events aimed at developing skills and knowledge in healthcare and related fields.
- Collaborate with members and partners to ensure the events are impactful and meet the needs of the students.
- Create and manage academic projects and initiatives that promote student growth and professional development.
- Develop resources, such as study guides, professional development plans, and mentorship programs, to support students.
- Foster an environment of collaboration and learning within the organization, encouraging student engagement with available academic services.
- Continuously research new academic opportunities, scholarships, internships, and educational programs to benefit students.
- Explore innovative ways in which The Medica Zone can expand its support for students' academic and career development.
- Provide recommendations to leadership on academic initiatives that will enhance the organization’s support services.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, with experience in academic support or student services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Passion for education, student development, and healthcare fields, with a commitment to helping students achieve their academic and career goals.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and adapt to changing student needs.
- Hands-on experience in academic support and student services within a dynamic nonprofit organization.
