The Rovers will help monitor the 27+ miles of trails located in the Brandywine Valley unit of First State National Historical Park. Volunteers will act as the eyes and ears for park staff, reporting unusual activity they witness while on the trail to their supervisor. Examples of unusual activity may include hunting, boundary encroachment, dumping, social trails, and unsanctioned trail modifications. Volunteers will not directly approach a suspect/violator but will notify a Park Ranger and/or their supervisor. Volunteers can also educate visitors about using the park’s resources correctly.
