Through strategic initiatives and tailored services like the After-School Cosmetology Program, STEM Summer Camp, Bilingual Volunteer Corps, and more, we strive to break down barriers. We are seeking a creative and motivated volunteer social media manager to help amplify our message and engage our audience.

The Volunteer Social Media Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing our social media strategy, creating engaging content, and growing our online presence. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about social media and community engagement to gain hands-on experience while supporting an important mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a social media strategy that aligns with the organization’s goals.

  • Create and curate engaging content for various platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok).

  • Monitor social media channels, respond to comments, and engage with followers to build a supportive online community.

  • Analyze social media metrics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and adjust strategies as needed.

  • Collaborate with staff and volunteers to gather stories, photos, and updates that highlight our work.

  • Stay up-to-date on social media trends and best practices to enhance our outreach efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and their respective audiences.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.

  • Creative thinking and ability to generate innovative content ideas.

  • Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Canva).

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

  • Passion for underserved communities.

Commitment: This position requires approximately 5-10 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months, with flexibility in scheduling.
