The DMV Music Alliance is looking for multiple people to join our digital content team to help us elevate our online presence and promote our mission! Choose from various focus areas, from promoting our initiatives to engaging with the community and creating dynamic content. Positions include:
Social Media Specialist [10]:
- Create engaging content for our website, social media, and marketing materials.
- Interview artists and industry professionals, bringing their stories to our audience.
- Research and generate content ideas around resources, events, and industry trends.
- Engage with the online community, respond to comments, and foster meaningful conversations.
- Monitor social media trends and conversations related to the music industry and our initiatives.
- Ensure all content is on-brand, optimized for platforms, and resonates with our target audience.
- Contribute ideas to help grow our social media presence and drive engagement.
- Analyze and track social media performance and make revisions to campaign as needed
What You Bring:
- Deep knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and analytics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of the music industry and current trends.
- Proficiency in content creation and copywriting for social media.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Experience with social media management tools and analytics platforms.
- Creative thinking and the ability to generate engaging content ideas.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret social media performance metrics.
Newsletter Editor [2-3]:
- Develop and execute email marketing strategies for promoting our initiatives, events, and resources.
- Plan and schedule email campaigns for timely delivery to targeted audience segments.
- Create compelling email content, including newsletters, updates, and event announcements.
- Collaborate with our team to align email content with broader marketing and communication goals.
- Manage email lists and segmentations to enhance personalization and targeting.
- Implement A/B testing to optimize email performance and effectiveness.
- Monitor key metrics like deliverability, open rates, and click-through rates, and provide insightful reports.
What You Bring:
- Passion for music and knowledge of the industry.
- Experience in email marketing, ideally in nonprofit or music sectors.
- Proficiency with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp) and automation tools.
- Strong understanding of email marketing best practices and performance tracking.
- Excellent written communication and copywriting skills.
- Ability to create content that resonates with and engages our audience.
- Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
Website Content Developer [2-3]:
- Manage and update content, including pages, blog posts, and multimedia elements.
- Utilize tags and SEO practices.
What You Bring:
- Proficiency in WP and Elementor.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for user support and team collaboration.
- Experience with SEO and website analytics is a bonus.

Founded by DMV area music professionals FOR area music professionals, the DMV Music Alliance is a grassroots, non-profit, volunteer organization. It’s goals are dedicated to bringing together the organizations and individuals from all facets of the regional music ecosystem, all genres, and all communities across the DMV, so that together we can develop the services, resources, networks, and tools needed for both our regional musicians as well as our regional industry professionals - from every area genre, role in the industry, background, and area - to grow their careers in music here in the DMV.
