This program has been the backbone of the services that Becky’s Foundation renders to sustain a living needy, orphaned and vulnerable children in the community through voluntary services such as education, health care, child care, art and culture and sports and social change. Whether you are an individual or a group, being students, professionals, missionaries, or seniors, you can join hands with us and use your time and talent to help children and communities in need.

Several volunteers from around the world have made important contributions and have had life-changing experiences working with us on different projects. Many of them are proud to call our base their second home and, for that matter, have returned to our projects on many occasions. You too could have a role to play in one or more of our ongoing projects.You may choose to participate in projects such as Child Care Service, Health Care, Teaching, Sport and Social Change, Arts and Culture or Special Needs.

VOLUNTEERING REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to commit at least 2 weeks
  • At least 18 years old on the day you start volunteering. Under-aged people either need adult accompaniment or must provide us with a letter of parental consent
  • Open-minded, willing to learn and adjust to fit into different cultures and work in a less resourceful environment
  • Clean background check, less than 1 year old
  • Medical Volunteers or interns; In addition to the general requirements must provide a copy of a medical degree, or transcripts, or license together with a resume

PROGRAM PARTICIPATION FEE

Becky’s Foundation loves its volunteers and appreciates all the selfless work they do supporting its activities. The organization just can’t wait till the day when it’s able to absorb all the cost involved in hosting volunteers. For now, all participating volunteers are required to contribute a reasonable amount of money to help cover the cost of things, such as:

  • Comprehensive pre-departure and in-country support
  • Transportation: Pick-up from Accra (Kotoka International Airport), transport to the project site, Senya-Beraku
  • Detailed orientation
  • Authentic local meals 3x daily
  • Purified drinking water
  • Clean accommodation with utilities included
  • Some contribution into the project(s)
  • Certificate upon completion of program
  • Reference letter upon request
  • Debriefing/send-off gathering
  • Transportation: Transport from Senya and drop off in Accra (Kotoka International Airport)
  • 24/7 pre departure and in-country support

* You are responsible for your own airfare, travel insurance, medical insurance, vaccinations, internal travel costs, as well as possible souvenirs.

Mission Statement

To team up with like-minded people and organizations to empower unprivileged people and communities through sustainable projects in education, health, attitudinal changes, and skill training.

Description

Established on April 25, 2012, and based in a small coastal community of Senya-Beraku, Ghana, Beckfound has been working to improve the quality of life of some of the most vulnerable children. The foundation manages its own orphanage, school, and soccer academy. Beckfound equally supports credible local projects focusing on education, community development, healthcare, and special needs.

The work of Beckfound is carried out by a dedicated local staff and constantly assisted by a diverse group of incredible volunteers from all over the world.

Over the years, the foundation has received enormous technical support, donations, and funding from volunteers and organizations who believe in its vision and have witnessed the progress that the foundation has made improving lives.
