Help make FROST, the Cleveland Botanical Garden's winter show, truly sparkle by stringing lights on the cut evergreens. As the first step in creating amazing trees, hundreds of strands of lights are put on over close to 40 trees inside and outside. This light stringing day is one of Holden Forests & Gardens (HF&G) Green Teens opportunities, designated for teens ages 15-19. Teens can try out volunteering with HF&G, and perhaps choose to do more volunteering in the future!
Here are the details:
- WHEN: Saturday, November 16 - we have two shifts, one from 10am-12:30pm and a second from 1:30-4pm.
- WHERE: Cleveland Botanical Garden at 11030 East Boulevard. Volunteers can park in our attached parking garage (the entrance is off of Wade Oval). Parking will be validated for the day. Just follow the signs when you arrive!
- WEAR: Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes. Gloves are recommended for both warmth and for protection against branches. Work may be done inside or outside, so layers are recommended as is dressing for the weather! Volunteers who are not dressed in proper attire will be turned away.
- WHAT TO BRING: Please bring a water bottle.
- WHAT ELSE: All volunteers are required to read and sign our Volunteer Waiver & Agreement (provided when registered). Volunteers age 18+ can print it out to bring with them or sign a paper copy that will be available at the work site. IMPORTANT: Volunteers under age 18 MUST print this waiver, have a parent/guardian complete both sides, and bring the completed waiver with them in order to volunteer. NO EXCEPTIONS.
