YOU DON’T HAVE TO SWING A HAMMER TO HELP HABITAT FOR HUMANITY BUILD HOMES. ReStore Arlington Heights is a resale store of new and gently used Furniture, Home Accessories, Appliances and Building Materials with all proceeds going to fund Habitat for Humanity in our area. We are in desperate need of volunteers who are willing to help weekly or biweekly in our receiving department - this includes loading and unloading furniture and other donated items, moving items onto the sales floor, and removing sold items from the sales floor. Will include some lifting and moving around the store.

  • Shifts: Serve as little as every other week for 3 to 4 hours.
  • Training: "NEW TO RESTORE ORIENTATION" is held once a month to give you all you need to know to get started. On your 1 st day you work with Volunteer Mentor.
  • Court ordered Community Service: ReStore accepts those individuals that need to complete 30 hours or more. Must serve at least 2 - four hour shifts per month.

Mission Statement

Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles that seeks to put God’s love into action by building homes, communities, and hope. Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating, and preserving homes, by advocating for fair and just housing policies, and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions. Our ReStores exist, in part, to help fund our programs. For more information go to habitathfv.org.

Description

Using volunteer labor, we build mostly new homes. We also do some restoration and rehab work. We also fund three home preservation programs.
