Cut Iris Beds and Peony Bushes for 82-Year-Old
ORGANIZATION: SeniorHelp Volunteer Program
Please visit the new page to apply.
This older adult in our community would be very grateful if a volunteer would cut back two iris beds and peony bushes to ready the yard for fall. The yard is not very big. The client thinks that a volunteer could use their weed whacker. It would be best for volunteer to take pruning tools.
Please join us in SeniorHelp to provide volunteer assistance to older Nebraskans that will help them remain independent and in their own homes and improve the quality of their lives.

Description
SeniorHelp is a program offered through the Eastern Nebraska Office on Aging. SeniorHelp volunteers provide direct services to aging adults in the community needing assistance with such things as transportation, companionship, home maintenance, household/personal assistance (light housekeeping, organization, reading mail, laundry, etc.), interior/exterior painting, yard work, snow removal, and delivery of weekday Meals on Wheels. Our program coordinates both ongoing matches and one-time assignments. Volunteers can commit as little or as much time as they choose and most of our opportunities allow flexibility in scheduling.
All of our volunteers must be 19 yrs old or accompanied by a parent/guardian when volunteering. Because of the vulnerability of our clients, we are unable to disclose client information and set up assignments until a volunteer has enrolled in our program by completing an application. In addition to the application, etc., we screen volunteers by conducting a criminal background check and personal reference checks
