Detailed Description

Looking to help a family in need this Thanksgiving? Sign up to create meal baskets at home or within an organization. This is a remote volunteer project that is completed at your location and convenience. Thanksgiving Baskets Give a family in need a Thanksgiving to remember! By creating a Thanksgiving basket, you not only provide a warm meal but also a time for parents and children to come together and create lasting memories. Each Thanksgiving basket will be donated to a local family and can be filled with non-perishable goods and supplies. Take a look below for suggested items to include in your Thanksgiving basket. All baskets must be delivered to your local CHS office no later than Monday, November 18th to ensure families receive the baskets in time. Basket Contents: Grocery gift card to purchase turkey and fresh produce Festive basket or box Holiday napkins, plates and utensils Non-perishable food ideas: Stuffing mix Cornbread mix Instant mashed potatoes Canned green beans French friend onion Cream of mushroom soup Cranberry sauce Canned corn Jars of gravy Canned yams Marshmallows Brown sugar Apple cider (non-refrigerated) Dessert mix - pumpkin pie filling, cake mix Items to avoid: Fresh meat, produce or cold/frozen foods - CHS is not able to safely store perishable foods. Gift cards for these products work best! Homemade items - Food allergies can be dangerous! Pre-packaged goods where individuals can clearly see all listed ingredients is the safest option. Adult beverages - If you would like to include a beverage, sticking to teas, coffee and juices that do not need to be refrigerated is best! Step 1: Complete a profile on our volunteer website https://chsfl.volunteerhub.com Step 2: Register under "Thanksgiving Basket." Step 3: Register for how many events according to how many hours you are in need of. Example-each event represents 2 hours. If you are in need of 8 hours -register for four events. Step 4: Each basket will earn you 2 hours of volunteer time. Step 5: Schedule a drop off by emailing julie.young@chsfl.org or mail via postal service to Children’s Home Society of FL 3335 Forest Hill Blvd West Palm Beach, FL 33406 Attn: Julie Young. Step 5: Record your donation here https://chsfl.org/chsgifts/ .

Mission Statement

Building bridges to success for children.

Description

Our vision:

A world where children realize their full potential.

Our mission:

Building bridges to success for children.

Our common bond:

Caring - Integrity - Respect - Commitment - Leadership - Excellence

CHS leads the way in developing and delivering solutions that drastically change life trajectories for children and families.

We’re different because we invest in lasting solutions, not short-term fixes. We empower children and families to cross bridges that lead to success.

At CHS, we are reimagining the future of foster care. We’re creating a world where children are safer - where they don’t enter foster care in the first place. We’re addressing the root causes that lead to dangerous situations ... and we’re implementing one-of-a-kind solutions that will change the future for children, families and communities.

Together, We do good.
