ORGANIZATION: Volunteer Polk

  • 10 people are interested

Following a disaster, ESF-15 Volunteers and Donations (Volunteer Polk and AmeriCorps Senior RSVP Polk), as outlined in Polk County’s Emergency Management Plan, is responsible for the coordination and management of unaffiliated volunteers and donated relief supplies. Unaffiliated volunteers are volunteers not already serving with an existing disaster relief organization or agency serving Polk County.

AFTER the storm, we will send periodic emails with updated available ways to volunteer. These emails will contain information about the opportunity and how to connect to the opportunity.

Registering does NOT require you to report to the assignments being sent out. It simply means you're on the list to be in the know. If you would like to be notified of opportunities to assist in disaster response efforts AFTER the storm has passed, please click the "I want to help".

Do NOT self deploy. Connect with the agency before traveling to the location unless otherwise told in the email. This ensures the agency still needs your help and will be ready when you arrive and it allows for only necessary traffic to be on the road keeping it clear for emergency personnel and debris removal.
