Prolific author Zane Grey known as "the father of the western novel," was inspired to launch his early writing career on the banks of the Upper Delaware River. Zane was eager to escape the bustling New York City to canoe and fish along the Delaware. Today his former residence in Lackawaxen, PA is now a self-guided museum owned by the National Park Service. The Zane Grey Museum Docent position is engaged in assisting the interpretation team with staffing the Zane Grey Museum and providing visitor assistance.
Duties include:
- Assisting museum visitors with park questions.
- Interpretation of Zane Grey Museum exhibits.
- Operating Eastern National sales outlet.
- Dusting exhibits/ vacuuming carpet/ sweeping porch
- Changing cancellation stamp dates.
Hours of operation:
Memorial Day-Labor Day Thursday-Sunday 10am-4pm
January & February Saturdays & Sundays 10am-3:30pm
Availability for entire duration of the day is preferred, however, there is flexibility for 3+ hour shifts.
