Location: 100 Whitney Ave, Vallejo, CA 94589
Time Commitment: Once a week (Monday-Friday between 8 AM and 3 PM). Sessions are 90 minutes. There are 4 sessions and every cycle for each session is 12 weeks
One-time commitment of at least 1 hour or an ongoing commitment of 20 hours is required.
Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated volunteers to join our team in providing essential support for individuals experiencing mental health challenges. This opportunity is ideal for both individuals with professional experience in the mental health field and those who are passionate about making a difference, regardless of their background. Together, we can foster a supportive environment that promotes well-being and resilience within our community.
Who Should Apply:
We encourage applications from anyone interested in mental health support, including:
Mental health professionals seeking to give back to the community.
Students or individuals pursuing a career in mental health.
Volunteers without a formal background in mental health who possess empathy and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities:
As a Mental Health Support Volunteer, your role may include, but is not limited to:
Peer Support: Provide a listening ear and emotional support to individuals in need, fostering a safe and non-judgmental space.
Facilitation: Assist in the organization and facilitation of support groups, workshops, or community events focused on mental health awareness and education.
Resource Coordination: Help connect individuals with mental health resources and services available in the community.
Outreach: Engage in outreach efforts to raise awareness about mental health issues and promote available support services.
Administrative Support: Assist with data entry, record keeping, and other administrative tasks that support the organization's programs and initiatives.
Training Participation: Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance your skills and understanding of mental health issues and best practices.
Managing Resources: Help manage and organize mental health resources and materials

Description
Our school is currently in need of volunteers in various areas. We are seeking volunteers who can assist with our after-school program by helping students sign-in/sign-out, passing out snack, and supervising students while they're participating in various activities, such as sports and study hall. We are also seeking volunteers who can assist in the cafeteria by supervising students as they eat, helping to make sure their table is clean, and dismissing them to recess. Lastly, we need volunteers who can assist with monitoring our campus and ensuring the safety of our students.
