AIM volunteers serve as Dance Buddies and Music Buddies during each class session - connecting with and supporting Neurodivergent and Disabled group members, participating in all class activities, and assisting staff as needed.
Volunteer scheduling is flexible based on your needs, preferences and availability. There are opportunities to volunteer once a week, once a month, or occasionally as you’re able - whatever frequency works best for you. Volunteer shifts are available throughout the week; check out our Classes and Camps pages for our current schedule and upcoming opportunities.
We welcome anyone aged 13 and up to volunteer with us! No dance or music background is needed, nor experience working with children or Neurodivergent/Disabled individuals. All that is needed is a willingness to learn, connect, and encourage. We welcome all backgrounds, experiences, abilities and identities in our fantastic team of volunteers. Individuals who would benefit from accommodations or any other supports are encouraged to share these via our volunteer form, with any staff member, or by emailing info@aim-seattle.org.

Mission Statement
We enrich the lives of people in the disability community through active engagement with and access to movement and the arts.
Description
AIM Seattle is a grassroots organization that works to address systemic barriers faced by people with disabilities, especially children, teens, and young adults. People with disabilities have the same aspirations and dreams that everyone does: healthy relationships, meaningful ways to participate in society, and the resources needed to be successful. Yet as a community, people with disabilities face numerous daily challenges and systemic barriers to full participation in society. In addition to basic challenges such as transportation and housing, access to supportive services is complex and multi-faceted.
AIM is addressing these barriers by supporting Disabled community members. In January 2021, AIM began a weekly Adaptive Dance Program for teens with a diverse range of disabilities supported by volunteers. Since then, we have expanded our programming to expand our dance offerings and incorporated other arts programming, including music and theater.
