As event assistants, you are vital in maintaining smooth operations at our Coats for Kids event. We invite you to come help us keep the coats coming for local children in need!
Event assistants will help out behind-the-scenes at our Coats for Kids drive by restocking coats, keeping the area clean, pulling sizes as needed, and other tasks related to the distribution of coats. Volunteers for this role must be able to move and stand for extended periods of time.
All volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times for this volunteer role. Please note this volunteer position is the best option for families if they would like to volunteer with a child under ten years of age. Snacks and drinks will be available for volunteers throughout the event, and a light lunch will be provided to individuals who sign up for two consecutive shifts.
If you would like to sign up a group and do not have a volunteer account, please create one and sign up at https://centralusa.salvationarmy.org/centralindiana/volunteer/ or contact kathy.dallacosta@usc.salvationarmy.org.

Mission Statement
The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
Description
Using both paid staff and volunteers, we repond to disasters locally, nationally and internationally. Moreover, we repond to individual plights within Indiana whether the circumstances involve domestic violence, substance abuse, at risk children, homelessness, joblessness and other situations where people need help and training. We have multiple programs and service-specific centers in and around Indiana. We have special events as fundraisers, donation collections and to increase awareness. "Need knows no season" so we are in constant pursuit of finding ways to make a difference and offer the gift of God's love.
