ORGANIZATION: DAWN Against Trafficking

Founded in 2021, DAWN Against Trafficking (previously known as "Future Unchained Toronto) is a youth-led non-profit organization dedicated to educating the general public about the heinous crime of human trafficking and empowering survivors by connecting them to financial, mental, and career resources.

As an events volunteer, you will help create, design, and present workshops to our target audience members. We will get you ready and onboard. There are no minimum or maximum hours to commit to the organization as long as tasks are completed; volunteer hours, certification, references and letters of recommendation are all provided upon request at any time.

Mission Statement

DAWN Against Trafficking aims to empower victims of human trafficking while spreading awareness in Toronto to educate the public about this issue. We employ a multi-pronged approach to fighting human trafficking and assisting victims, as well as connect volunteers of anti-trafficking organizations around Toronto, conduct research on the exploitation of the condition of these victims, host local workshops for teenagers, and design an online curriculum to battle this cause.

Description

DAWN Against Trafficking is the largest youth-led anti-trafficking non-profit organization in Toronto. We focus on empowering labour, sexual, and organ trafficking victims while raising awareness of human trafficking among the Torontonian community. Founded in October 2021, our team currently consists of a team of 30+ youth volunteers.
