We are excited to announce that October is Head Start Awareness Month, a time dedicated to celebrating the profound impact the Head Start program has had on our community. For over 50 years, Child Inc has been committed to providing comprehensive early childhood education and support services to our community’s most vulnerable children and families.
This month presents a unique opportunity to amplify our efforts, and we would love for you to join us in making a difference. Our goal is to provide our families and children with essential tools to continue their learning journey at home by distributing activity kits filled with books, crayons, puzzles, and more. These kits will support 750 Head Start children (ages 3 to 5) and 200 Early Head Start children (ages 6 weeks to 2 years), helping them thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
We are reaching out to our Austin community to ask for your support in making this initiative a success. In addition to donating supplies or financial contributions, this is also a fantastic opportunity for your team to participate in a meaningful team-building activity. We invite local companies to come together and create these activity kits, fostering a spirit of collaboration while making a tangible impact on the lives of our children.
Your involvement, whether through assembling kits, donating materials, or spreading the word, would be greatly appreciated and make a lasting difference in our community.

Mission Statement
Our mission at Child Inc is to provide high-quality education and comprehensive support services for children and their families while promoting personal and social responsibility in the communities we serve.
Description
Child Inc Head Start is a national high quality research based early childhood development program designed to promote school readiness for income eligible families with children ages 0-5 including pregnant mothers, focused on closing the achievement gap between more affluent peers and lower income children founded as a 501(c)3 in 1972. Our mission stems from providing access to quality early learning environments and family support services for high risk populations as the Early Head Start and Head Start provider for Travis County. Services include early education, health, dental, nutrition, mental health and special education for children with disabilities. Child Inc gives priority to Central Texas families that have incomes below the federal poverty guidelines with the goal of providing a positive learning environment for young children and addressing their comprehensive service needs. Priority is also given to children who are homeless or in the child protective service system with 10% of enrollment reserved for children with special needs.
