ORGANIZATION: Miracle Flights

The Vegas Golden Knights plan to celebrate the start of the 2024-25 season with Fan Fest, presented by Toyota, at Downtown Summerlin (r) on Sunday, October 6.

Festivities will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. PT at The Lawn at Downtown Summerlin (r). The event will offer fans an opportunity to hear from Golden Knights players just days before Opening Knight on Wednesday, October 9. General Manager Kelly McCrimmon, Head Coach BruceCassidy, team broadcasters and members of the VGK Cast - including Chance, the Vegas Vivas and the Knights Guard - will also be in attendance.

Fan Fest is free and open to the public and all ages. Family friendly activities will include music, ball hockey, giveaways and a special Touch-a-Truck activation.

Location: The Lawn at Downtown Summerlin, 1825 Festival Plaza Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89135 Date: 10/6/24 Time: 11am-2pm (Volunteers will need to be there from 10am-2:30pm for set up and break down) Volunteer Duties:
  • Help with placing temporary tattoos on kids
  • Help with making sure our water station is clean & tidy
  • Help with making paper airplanes for kids and giving them prizes
  • Help with any needs of running our booth
Friendly Reminder: Attire: Wear comfortable clothing, tennis shoes, sunscreen, a hat, and bring a reusable water bottle to refill from our ambulance that has a purified water drinking station built in. Volunteers will be standing for extended periods, interacting with kids, and may need to lift up to 25 lbs.

Miracle Flights provides free commercial airline flights to sick children and their families in need of life-saving medical care not found in their local communities.

Description

Miracle Flights for Kids is a national, 501 (c)(3), medical flight organization that provides FREE commercial airline flights for a sick child and their families to see a specialist or get a second opinion not available in their community.

We will fly a child as far and as many times as needed to get well. Since 1985, we’ve coordinated more than 150,000 free flights to those in need of life-changing medical care. In our 35 year history, we’ve helped families in every corner of the country.
