Scottsdale Public Library in Arizona is out to change the world and we need your help to do just that.
In the upcoming weeks, the Civic Center Library, part of the Scottsdale Public Library system, will be opening a College and Career Corner and we need volunteers to help run this. Our esteemed College and Career volunteers will provide customer service to library patrons in the College and Career Corner at the Civic Center Library.
Our amazing volunteers in this role will provide career and college counseling to both teens and adults. They will help assist students with colleges essays, applications, and FAFSA and scholarship applications. But that's not the only way you will help change the world. In addition, someone in this role would provide assistance to patrons who are applying for jobs, including reviewing resumes, providing mock interviews, and assisting in job applications.
We are committed to the success of this new library space, and thus, there could be other amazing duties associated with this.
We are specifically looking for volunteers to volunteer on Mondays, Tuesdays OR Wednesdays from 3pm to 5pm, as well as be occassionally available for appointments, based on the needs of the world-class Scottsdale community.
Are you ready to help us change the world? If so, let us know and we will be in contact soon.

History of Scottsdale Public Library
The Scottsdale Public Library was started in the summer of 1955 by Lou Ann Noel and Beth Fielder. Located in the un-air-conditioned Adobe House, which at the time served as a community center, the library was originally open for only two hours, two mornings a week, and its collection consisted of 300 donated books.
In 1959 the Friends of the Library, a non-profit, community organization made up entirely of volunteers, was organized to support and fund-raise for the library. In 1960 the City of Scottsdale assumed responsibility for the library and hired the first professionally trained librarian. Later, the City hired additional paid staff to keep up with the demands of the community and, in 1968, opened a new 37,000-square-foot main library.
