ORGANIZATION: SUN 'n FUN Aerospace Expo

This is a family friendly community event with a Kid Zone, live music, craft breweries, food trucks and FUN!!!

Multiple Volunteer positions available, several shifts available

  • · Parking ambassador (free gift if you do this shift- help folks park straight and where they are supposed to)
  • · Kid Zone Attendant (bouncy house area supervision)
  • · Game attendant and Floaters (help wherever is needed, keep people moving, provide information and directions, share our story and mission)
  • · Front Gate sign holders (help people find the parking lot, keep them from parking where they are not supposed to go.)
  • · Root beer attendant (serve root beer in souvenir cups in the kids’ area)
  • · Admissions Must be 21. (ticket sales-seated, air-conditioned)

Mission Statement

SUN 'n FUN's mission is to Engage! Educate! & Accelerate! the next generation of Aerospace Professionals.

Description

We are heading into a massive shortage of all professions related to anything aviation. We are helping to fill that gap through scholarships for private pilots, supporting the Polk County Public High School Central Florida Aerospace Academy and its five aviation tracks, providing every fifth grade class in Polk County a field trip through our Florida Air Museum and our STEM SkyLabs as well as collaborating with the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) to create a middle school STEM and aviation curriculum offered throughout the country.
We do this through our primary fund raiser, our annual Fly-In SUN 'n FUN each spring and multiple other local evens throughout the year. These events are possible with the help of volunteers. Last year we needed 3,700 volunteers just for the Fly-In! There is room for you!
