About Us: 100% Cuba is a newly formed Community Group dedicated to addressing childhood adversities in Cuba through research, advocacy, and support. We're seeking fiscal sponsorship to enhance our impact and broaden our reach. Our mission is to improve the lives of children and families by providing data-driven resources, support, and awareness of their challenges.

Position Overview: We seek a dedicated and detail-oriented volunteer Grant Writer to help secure funding for our nationwide survey project examining the correlation between childhood adversities and adult health outcomes in Cuba. The ideal candidate will have experience in grant writing, research, and nonprofit fundraising, with a passion for supporting underserved communities.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify potential grant opportunities from foundations, government agencies, and other sources.
  • Draft compelling grant proposals that align with the mission of "100% Cuba" and the funders' requirements.
  • Work closely with our project team to gather necessary proposal data and information.
  • Develop a calendar of grant submission deadlines and ensure timely submission of all applications.
  • Assist in writing letters of inquiry, project budgets, and grant reports as needed.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure clarity, consistency, and professionalism in all written materials.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in grant writing, preferably for nonprofit or research-focused organizations.
  • Strong research and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Passion for public health, childhood adversity research, or Cuban social issues is a plus.
  • Experience in nonprofit fundraising is highly desirable.
  • A basic understanding of budgets and project finance is beneficial.
