Who is SoCalFTC & Next Careers?

We are the program delivery partners for FIRST Tech Challenge in The SoCal/Los Angeles region. Last year we had about 180 teams and hosted 50+ tournaments.

We are a non-profit organization with the purpose to develop students’ technical and interpersonal skills through FIRST robot competitions for the SoCal FTC area teams. Our committee is based on 100% volunteerism. Some of us have full time jobs in companies or schools, some of us are retired, and some of us are students and do not receive payment for organizing and running these events.

What is FIRST Tech Challenge?

It’s way more than building robots. FIRST Tech Challenge teams (up to 15 team members, grades 7-12) are challenged to design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in a head-to-head challenge in an alliance format.

Guided by adult coaches and mentors, students develop STEM skills and practice engineering principles, while realizing the value of hard work, innovation, and working as a team.
