ORGANIZATION: Compassus

A Special Event volunteer helps when Compassus is hosting any type of special event at facilities where our patients live. For example holiday events such a Halloween parties and Christmas programs. There are opportunities in helping with monthly bingo groups, crafts and much more. Our volunteers are assigned a patient for an event or activity and will stay with them during the activity to ensure they enjoy themselves.

Description

Compassus provides hospice end of life care services. Hospice care is a type of healthcare that aims to reduce suffering and promote comfort. The hospice team focuses greatly on spiritual and emotional health as well. The foundations of hospice include nursing care with an emphasis on managing symptoms, practical assistance and emotional support. Caring for a loved one at home can be challenging. Our goal is to provide timely services to help your family make the most of your time together.
