Volunteers will help with race day operations for the 16th annual Colonel Allensworth 5k Run/Walk for health. This event helps to raise awareness about health issues facing African American Communities. After the race volunteers are encouraged to join us for the Annual Rededication Ceremony, presented to renew the commitment of the citizens of California to help California State Parks preserve the history of the contributions made by African Americans in the development of the state and our nation. Visitors are welcome to tour the park's historic buildings and enjoy live entertainment, music, and food. Ages 18 and older are welcome. Free camping is provided on Friday night for registered volunteers. Volunteers are needed for the following areas and will be assigned the day of the event: Registration, assistance at the start and finish lines, directing participants where to run on the 5k course, offer water to runners on the 5k course, photographer to capture photos of runners - please email Haley at, haley@calparks.org if you are interested in volunteering as a photographer.

PLEASE NOTE: Registration is required to ensure volunteers receive important details on where to meet the group and what to bring. Please sign up on our webpage https://volunteer.calparks.org/
