Bright Mind Enrichment (BME) has recently expanded into new areas in our work with the most vulnerable populations (notably via our streetcare.us initiative and a new micro-school project), and we are taking on new volunteers. We are seeking an accountant for analyzing financial information and preparing financial reports to determine or maintain a record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within the organization.
Job responsibilities include:
- Manage all general ledger and subsidiary journals, including process general ledger transactions and post entries
- Manage all annual reporting requirements
- Prepare financial materials for the Board
- Assist in the annual budgeting process
- Assist with strategic budgets for long/short term planning for the organization
- Assist with financial models and other projects as needed
- Assists in the annual financial and any other audits as required
- Review and report submission to funding partners as required
- Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Requirements
- 5 to 7 years related experience preferred
- NonĀprofit experience preferred but not required
- Knowledge of nonĀprofit accounting standards, FASB 116 & 117 preferred but not required
- Knowledge of accounting software (quickbooks)

Bright Mind Enrichment is a community wellness organization dedicated to helping individuals thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We recently launched a community wellness initiative: Street Care, focused on helping vulnerable populations through our deployable online and on-the-streets outreach program approach. We have an app, a store for in-the-field gear, dozens of how-to videos, and much more. We are passionate about building community and this is a crucial time to create transformative change!
You will work closely with BME’s leadership and team and have full support from our diverse teams spanning different industries, including non-profit work and various types of project management experience. We have worked hard to create strong internal systems, which have worked well both for project managers and the team members with whom they work. Along with numerous tracking materials and modules, we have a variety of organizational methods to help us track work.

Bright Mind is a community wellness education organization.
Bright Mind recently launched Street Care, a massive initiative built by our homelessness and wellness experts, 'your toolkit to help homeless people.' We have an app, an expanding series of informational materials and instructional videos (25+ already), and more (at streetcare.us). We are pioneering an online and on-the-streets outreach approach, accessible to everyone.
