Have you ever accompanied someone for medical care such as surgery or labor and delivery? If so, you know that these situations can often involve long waits. You can brighten someone's day by volunteering with the University Health Care Cart Program.

This initiative empowers volunteers to provide light snacks and refreshing water to patients and visitors in various waiting rooms, helping to create a more comfortable and supportive environment during their wait. Be a part of promoting comfort, reducing stress, and fostering a sense of community to those who need it the most!

Essential Functions :

• Work under the direction of the Volunteer Services Coordinator
• Integrate compassion, respect and unconditional positive regard toward patients, visitors and staff
• Track and document inventory each shift
• Follow all hospital and volunteer policies and procedures
• Pick up cart with refreshments daily and replenish as needed
• Offer water and snacks to individuals in designated areas
• Maintain proper hand hygiene
• Perform other duties as necessary
• Take count of every interaction
• Distribute and collect survey
• Follow appropriate scripts for designated areas
