Grant Writer for Non-Profit Addressing Racial Disparities in Incarceration

Are you passionate about combating racial disparities in the criminal justice system and empowering marginalized communities? Join our team as a Grant Writer and make a tangible difference in the lives of youth of color affected by incarceration.

We are seeking a dedicated individual to assist in securing financial grants aimed at supporting our initiatives to address recidivism rates among youth, particularly those from communities of color. As a Grant Writer, you will play a pivotal role in completing application processes, crafting compelling narratives, and securing funding that will directly impact the lives of vulnerable youth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with program managers and stakeholders to identify funding needs and priorities.
  • Research and identify potential grant opportunities aligned with the organization's mission and objectives.
  • Develop and write grant proposals, ensuring alignment with grant guidelines and requirements.
  • Compile supporting documents, data, and evidence to strengthen grant applications.
  • Maintain thorough records of grant applications, deadlines, and outcomes.
  • Cultivate relationships with funders, donors, and community partners to support ongoing fundraising efforts.
  • Stay informed about current trends, policies, and best practices in grant writing and philanthropy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or Social Sciences).
  • Proven experience in grant writing, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
  • Strong research skills and ability to analyze and synthesize complex information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Commitment to social justice, equity, and inclusivity.
  • Familiarity with issues related to youth incarceration, racial justice, and community empowerment is preferred.
