Our founder has authored a children’s book that tells the story of a boy who finds his voice through music. This book aims to highlight the healing power of music and raise awareness for our organization.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and creative Volunteer Book Marketer and Promoter to help launch and promote our book. This role will play a crucial part in raising awareness for both the book and our nonprofit.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy Development:
- Create a comprehensive marketing plan to promote the book while highlighting our organization’s mission.
Team Building:
- Assemble and manage a launch volunteer team to assist with various promotional activities.
-Partner with influencers in the parenting, education, and special needs spaces to review and promote the book.
Press Release and Distribution:
- Draft and distribute press releases to local media outlets and blogs.
- Reach out to influencers and bloggers for potential features and reviews.
Event Coordination:
- Organize and promote book launch events, speaking engagements, and book signings.
- Coordinate with local bookstores and libraries to host events. -Seek reviews from well-known authors, educators, or experts in autism and music therapy to build credibility.
Distribution:
- Develop relationships with local bookstores and libraries to carry the book.
- Explore opportunities for book fairs and community events.
Online Presence:
- Manage our organization’s Goodreads and Amazon Author Central accounts to promote the book and engage readers.
- Collaborate on social media campaigns to raise awareness.
Podcasts and Media Outreach:
- Identify and pitch to relevant podcasts for interviews about the book and our mission.
Proceeds Management:
- Work with our team to establish a plan for proceeds from book sales to benefit the organization.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and marketing skills.
- Experience in book promotion, event planning, or nonprofit marketing is a plus.
- Passion for children’s literature and advocacy for neurodivergent communities.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively.
