Position Overview: We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to assist with phone outreach to corporations and businesses that have generously supported us with financial donations in the past. Your efforts will help recruit these organizations to host online community fundraisers for Second Harvest of Silicon Valley. This role is essential in strengthening our community connections and expanding our fundraising initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct cold calls to targeted businesses and corporations to engage them in supporting Second Harvest.
• Identify and connect with the appropriate community engagement contacts within these organizations.
• Invite organizations to participate in hosting virtual community fundraisers.
• Actively listen to contacts, capturing relevant information for future outreach and follow-up.
• Document all interactions and data in our CRM database to support staff in their follow-up efforts.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 18+ years old
• Experience in customer service and/or sales is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on active listening.
• Comfortable making cold calls and engaging with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Proficient in using CRM software or willingness to learn.

Time Commitment:

• Available between 9am-3pm on Tuesdays
• 2-hour shifts desired
• You will start on-site and can transition to a hybrid schedule after completing training and demonstrating a clear understanding of the tasks.
