Mission Statement

To enhance the quality of life within our community through a proactive and effective government.

Description

Since 1925, the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Deerfield Beach has been vital to the lifeblood of the community. Today the parks system carries on the tradition through 266 developed acres at 30 sites. In 2003, Glatting Jackson developed a 25-year Parks and Recreation System Master Plan. The goal of the Master Plan is to assist the city in expanding and revitalizing our parks and recreation system to meet the needs and desires of its growing population. The city has begun capital improvement projects throughout our parks system with funding coming from various grants and bond dollars.

The recreation amenities we have available throughout the city include an aquatics center, athletic fields, gymnasium, outdoor basketball courts, tennis center and tot lots. The department also oversees the Blue Wave award winning beach, neighborhood parks, nature preserves and cemeteries. In addition, a wide variety of recreational, social and cultural programs are available at our community centers.
