Volunteer Responsibilities Volunteers provide horse care, facility maintenance, equipment maintenance, barn/stall care, equine feeding, help support program participants, and provide a warm welcoming environment for all. Bonus if you have existing equine skills or other unique skill sets, let us know we'd be happy to see how we can incorporate your skills! Project Details

in 2023 Christine Marie Star Riders (CMSR) had to move our entire equine operations from Marina, CA to Chualar, CA. In the span of the past year we've had a stellar team of volunteers help us with the transition but with winter fast approaching, we are in need of additional volunteers who can commit to the horses at least one consistent day per week to ensure the horses receive the best quality care, attention, and are given meals/watered and allows to bring back the full equine therapy programs provided prior to the transition.

Who do we need? We welcome people of all interests who have a healthy sense of humor, a willingness to learn, and abundant love and patience but would love it if you come with previous equine experience or have a specialty in equine care

Volunteers are the mainstay of our program. We are a 100% volunteer led program. We welcome professionals and people who simply love to help children, veterans, and horses. NO previous experience is required but let us know if you've got hidden equine/therapy skills. We have plenty of available volunteer work to ensure the ranch is in top shape regardless of your skills or interest areas!

At CMSR we have developed the CMSR WAY of doing things that best meets the needs of our equines, children, veterans and community including the provision of the best level of safety for our children, horses and volunteers. Therefore, at CMSR, EVERYONE follows the CMSR WAY.

Volunteers are trained to feed, care for, train, groom, and lead horses to assist participants with any balance and support needed

Volunteers provide horse care, equipment maintenance, facility upkeep/maintenance, and barn/stall care, and maintain all horse and program areas.

Volunteers assist with preparing food for the humans and horses along with potential to put together barbecue Saturday lunches for the teams. Volunteers help with activities, parties, special event days.

We only ask for a minimum time commitment of 2-4 hours each week
