About:

Streets Are For Everyone (known as SAFE) is a non-profit organization that aims to improve the quality of life for pedestrians, bicyclists, and drivers alike by working to reduce traffic fatalities to Zero. In 2023, Los Angeles experienced its deadliest year in over two decades, with 336 fatalities primarily due to hit-and-runs and speeding.

SAFE addresses this problem in a holistic fashion through direct education, broad awareness campaigns, partnerships, community outreach, policy and legislation, and through events such as Finish the Ride.

Purpose: Finish the Ride and Finish the Run are cycling and running events that which started as a campaign against hit-and-run crimes and has already achieved a 16% reduction in such incidents. These events also help raise support, awareness, and carry a message of solidarity that roads belong to everyone and that more holistic approaches must be embraced regarding road safety efforts.

Event Description: Finish the Ride Santa Clarita is a multi-day event that consists of a set-up day, event day, and teardown day. Regarding the event day, the event consists of three bike routes ranging from 12 miles to 62 miles along with a 5K and 10K run and walk portion.
