About Us: We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving mental health through innovative technology. Our journaling app provides users with a safe, anonymous space to express their thoughts and emotions. We are seeking an AI Engineer with experience in generative AI to help enhance the app’s capabilities and personalize the user experience.

Role Overview: As a volunteer AI Engineer, you will work on integrating generative AI into the journaling app to create personalized journaling prompts, emotional analysis, and meaningful interactions. Your contribution will help users reflect on their mental health journey and receive supportive, AI-generated content that encourages self-exploration and healing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with developers, UX/UI designers, and mental health experts to identify where generative AI can be most beneficial.
• Design and integrate AI models that generate personalized journal prompts based on users’ previous entries or selected themes.
• Implement AI-based sentiment analysis to offer gentle feedback or emotional insights after journal entries.
• Ensure data privacy and adhere to ethical guidelines in handling sensitive user information.
• Troubleshoot and optimize AI features for performance and scalability.
• Test and refine AI-driven content to ensure it aligns with mental health best practices.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience with AI/ML models, particularly in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and generative AI (e.g., GPT models).
• Strong programming skills in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with integrating AI into mobile or web applications.
• Ability to balance technical innovation with ethical considerations, especially in sensitive areas like mental health.
• Passion for mental health and using technology for social good.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with data privacy and security in AI systems.
• Knowledge of mental health frameworks or therapy techniques.
• Experience with cloud-based AI deployment (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).
