GED/HISET Preparation Instruction

Our program is in need of Language Arts, Science, Math and Social Studies instructors for our GED preparation classes. The instruction is virtual and all materials are provided. The tutoring session would be virtual and the schedules are flexible, at the convenience of the tutor and the student. We need dedicated volunteers willing to serve as GED/HISET Preparation tutors to invest in the lives of our students who are taking the initiative to work towards a stronger future.

We provide online curricula tailored to students’ needs. Tutors work with individuals or in small groups. We kindly request that our volunteers make at least a 3-month commitment to at least, 2 hours a week. Tutors don't need to be subject matter experts, they will need to prepare before each lesson to understand the current lesson and subject matter sufficiently to explain, answer questions and give quizzes. We will provide training and support, so our tutors have support and interpersonal tools to walk alongside our students on their path to graduation.

* Tutors must have a college degree and be at least 21 years old. Recent grads and retired teachers are encouraged to apply!
