Brightpoint is currently looking for volunteers to serve in the resource roles at our next poverty simulation in DeKalb County. The simulation was designed to help people understand what it is like to live in poverty. We partner with groups and organizations to host these events at their locations. Participants are assigned roles of fictional family members and live through a month of poverty based on their family's situation. Volunteers are used to fill the roles of community resources to meet the family's needs for the month. No experience is necessary; all instructions for volunteers will be given prior to the event.
