Volunteer Opportunity: Mentor/Tutor for Homeless Children

Organization: Bridging Tech
Location: Remote (can be in-person if volunteer wishes to do so)

About Us:

At Bridging Tech, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full academic potential, regardless of their circumstances. We are dedicated to supporting homeless and at-risk children through educational empowerment.

Role Overview:

We are looking for compassionate and dedicated volunteers to serve as mentors and tutors for children from homeless or housing-insecure backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small-group tutoring in subjects such as math, reading, science, and homework help.
  • Act as a positive role model and mentor, fostering a supportive and trusting relationship.
  • Help children build confidence in their academic abilities and personal growth.
  • Assist with setting and achieving academic goals and personal milestones.

Qualifications:

  • A passion for education and a desire to make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged children.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
  • Prior tutoring or teaching experience is a plus but not required. We offer training to all volunteers.
  • Ability to commit to tutoring/mentoring at least one student
