As a Volunteer Community Programming Coordinator, you will play a key role in organizing and executing community-driven programs that foster engagement and support our organization’s mission. You’ll collaborate with volunteers, community members, and partners to develop and implement creative programming ideas. This position involves coordinating events, promoting activities, and gathering feedback to enhance future programs. The ideal candidate is passionate about community building, organized, and eager to contribute to a positive impact.

Commitment: On average, 5-7 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of community programs, events, and initiatives, including library career sessions for children.
  • Collaborate with community members, volunteers, and partners to develop new programming ideas that align with community needs and goals.

  • Support coordination of volunteers for events and programs.

  • Help manage event logistics, including scheduling, budgeting, and ensuring proper resource allocation.

  • Collect feedback from participants to assess program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

  • Work closely with marketing and communications teams to promote events through social media, newsletters, and other channels.

  • Maintain a calendar of events and assist in managing event timelines to ensure smooth execution.

  • Assist in creating reports and presentations summarizing program outcomes and community impact.

Qualifications

  • Passion for community building, social impact, and event coordination.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Creative thinker with a proactive and positive attitude.

  • Experience in program or event planning.

  • Comfortable using basic digital tools and social media platforms.
