About the Volunteer Video Creator Role

We are seeking a creative and skilled video creator to support our team and help tell the story of our conservation, community development and cultural preservation efforts. While much of your work will take place remotely, you'll be creating engaging video content that highlights our environmental conservation work, as well as the cultural and spiritual traditions we strive to protect. You will focus on producing videos about important conservation issues, cultural heritage, indigenous practices, and global environmental and social challenges. While the role is primarily remote, you will be invited to attend our events and retreats to capture footage in person when possible.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and produce video content for social media, donor campaigns, and our website, focusing on a blend of environmental conservation and cultural preservation efforts
  2. Create reels and videos on a wide range of topics, including:
  • Conservation challenges and solutions
  • Specific animal species and biodiversity in the Chocó Andino region
  • The climate crisis and its impact on ecosystems and communities
  • Indigenous knowledge, rituals, and cultural practices
  • Artistic expressions tied to nature and ancestral wisdom
  • Sustainable living, permaculture, and land stewardship
  • Relevant environmental and cultural news articles

3.Collaborate remotely with the Conservation Campaign and Communications teams to produce visual content that supports grant proposals, fundraising efforts, and outreach

Optional: Attend workshops, ceremonies, and nature retreats to capture in-person footage for future events and promotional materials.

4.Edit and finalize videos for use across multiple platforms to drive awareness of our conservation and cultural preservation initiatives

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in video production and editing, especially for social media platforms
  • Proficiency with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, etc.)
  • Creativity in storytelling and an eye for visually compelling content that educates and inspires
  • Ability to work independently and manage remote collaborations effectively
  • Passion for environmental conservation, cultural preservation, and nonprofit work
  • Fluency in English required; Spanish is a plus
