ORGANIZATION: Helping Hands Project Organization

Position Overview: Helping Hands Project Organization seeks committed and passionate individuals to join our Board of Directors. As a board member, you will play a key role in supporting the organization's mission to empower and elevate the lives of underserved communities, particularly people of color, by providing access to essential resources and programs. Our board members serve as champions of the organization’s vision, helping shape the strategic direction and ensuring its long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Oversight: Actively participate in strategic planning to help guide the organization’s vision and growth. Ensure Helping Hands stays aligned with its mission and objectives.
  • Governance: Uphold the organization’s bylaws, policies, and ensure legal and ethical integrity. Attend board meetings regularly and contribute to decision-making processes.
  • Financial Oversight: Monitor the organization's financial health, including reviewing financial statements and participating in fundraising efforts. Help ensure responsible use of funds to achieve the organization’s goals.
  • Fundraising and Advocacy: Actively support the organization’s fundraising goals by leveraging personal and professional networks. Advocate for Helping Hands’ programs and initiatives within the community.
  • Program Support: Provide guidance and expertise in areas relevant to the organization’s services, including housing, food security, behavioral health, and emergency assistance.
  • Community Engagement: Act as an ambassador for the organization, building relationships with community leaders, stakeholders, and potential partners to increase awareness and support for our work.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for the mission and values of Helping Hands Project Organization.
  • Professional or volunteer experience in areas such as nonprofit governance, housing, behavioral health, legal, fundraising, or social services.
  • Strong leadership, networking, and communication skills.
  • Ability to commit time to board meetings, committee meetings, and related duties.
  • Experience with or a connection to the communities we serve, including communities of color, individuals with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and others in need of supportive services.

Helping Hands Project Organization is a local nonprofit, licensed, certified, and accredited Community Behavioral Health Facility. We are dedicated to improving the lives of underserved communities in the Puget Sound area. Part of our broader mission is to provide access to healthcare, behavioral health services, housing, and food security.

At Helping Hands Project Organization, our mission is to empower and elevate the lives of the most underserved individuals, particularly communities of color, by providing access to resources and programs that ensure an equitable opportunity for success. Established in 2019 and based in Everett, WA, our organization is dedicated to improving the well-being and resilience of marginalized populations across Washington state and beyond.

We are deeply committed to addressing the unique challenges faced by these communities, with a strong focus on providing essential services such as housing, behavioral health care, food security, and emergency assistance. Our work supports a diverse range of individuals, including people with disabilities, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, incarcerated or formerly incarcerated individuals, immigrants, refugees, and survivors
