Volunteer Description: Health Promotion Advocate

We are seeking dedicated volunteers to help promote a culture of health within our community. As a Health Promotion Advocate, you will assist in implementing initiatives that align with federal and state health requirements while fostering a supportive environment for wellness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in organizing health-related events and workshops.
  • Collaborate with local organizations to develop innovative health programs.
  • Engage with community members to raise awareness about health resources.
  • Help maintain compliance with federal and state health regulations.
  • Support outreach efforts to promote healthy lifestyle choices.

Healthy Community Lifespaces’ mission is to provide equity, innovative strategies, and education for all systems, to transform into inclusive healthy environments designed to empower communities and individuals to make evidence-based choices in their pursuit of healthy lifespaces. We believe that each individual is capable of integrating into their communities to live and thrive in a healthy, sustainable, fulfilling, and balanced quality of life while interacting with one another in harmony.

Description

We have done networking with organizations and individuals with practical ideas and the facilitation of steps necessary to solve implementation barriers in having wellness policies and healthy living spaces put into practice. We have done children's gardening programs, advocated for equity in school wellness policies, talks on creating healthy environments, contest for children and teens to encourage healthy lifestyles. We have a collaborative partnership with PDE and PDH for an annual contest with high school students to provide artwork promoting health and equity, the cover of the SHIP State Health Improvement plan.
