Founded in 2012, Off the Hook Arts (OtHA) is a thriving nonprofit that enriches children’s lives through free music lessons and free instruments while enhancing the diversity of music performances available in our community through intimate concerts of classical, jazz, and world music.
We are seeking a Board Treasurer. Our board is typically less than 14 members and we consider ourselves family.
The time commitment is minimal, as we additionally have a bookkeeper and CPA. This position is mainly about having financial knowledge (how to read a financial spreadsheet/report, print one out from QuickBooks) and making sense of how to think about our incoming funds in relationship to outgoing on a monthly basis. Sometimes there are reports and budgets to pull together for grants but it is less than a 4 hour per week if not even 0 most/some weeks. Talking about Off the Hook Arts, attending events as much as possible, helping us connect with the community in terms of fundraising is essential. Everyone on the board gives of their time, by buying tickets to events, and having some level of financial commitment, which is entirely up to you as to how much or how little. Our Board Term is 2 years but many on our board have served for 6 years or more.
Board meetings can be attended in person or on line via Zoom.
Please contact Jephta Bernstein, director@offthehookarts.org for more information and to discuss details.
