RESULTS is a movement of passionate, committed, everyday people. Together, we use our voices to influence political decisions that will bring an end to poverty.
At RESULTS, we know we can make a difference beyond voting in elections. As an advocate, you can have a say in the policies that impact millions of people experiencing poverty in your own community and around the world.
In 2021, during a pandemic and economic crisis, RESULTS advocates helped cut U.S. child poverty in half. Each year, RESULTS advocates secure billions of dollars for global health and education efforts. We are working for a world where everyone has health, education, and opportunity for a bright future in the U.S. and beyond.
Join our community of change this year. Help us make a difference in the world through advocacy. Sign up for your 1-hour New Advocate Orientation at www.results.org/volunteer.
What You’ll Do as an Advocate
With 4-6 hours per month as a RESULTS volunteer advocate, you will:
- Partner with local volunteers in your community to drive positive change together. This includes contacting members of Congress and their staff, publishing media, and organizing locally.
- Attend monthly webinars featuring policy updates, advocacy skills and tools, and anti-oppression.
- Become a more effective advocate through self-paced advocacy skills training and action taking.
- Connect with a community of advocates in your state and across the U.S.
Take Action to Create a Better Future
As we face uncertainty about what will come next in our country, this is when our advocacy matters the most. You can ensure our leaders understand your community's needs. Over the next year, your action as an advocate will make a difference for communities experiencing poverty.
US Poverty Advocates will:
- Ensure people have access to healthy food through nutrition programs
- Call for bold solutions to the affordable housing crisis.
- Help put money back in people’s pockets by making our tax code work for people experiencing poverty.
Global Poverty Advocates will:
- Urge the U.S. to lead in the fight against AIDS, TB, and malaria. Call for funding to strengthen health systems worldwide.
- Ensure caregivers can access lifesaving healthcare and nutrition for their kids.
- Secure access to vaccines for millions of children so that no child is dying from something that is preventable and treatable.
Actions we take today will shape the future for generations to come. Be part of our unstoppable community of change. Sign up for your 1-hour New Advocate Orientation at www.results.org/volunteer.

Mission Statement
RESULTS is a movement of passionate, committed everyday people. Together they use their voices to influence political decisions that will bring an end to poverty. Volunteers receive training, support, and inspiration to become skilled advocates. In time, volunteers learn to effectively advise policy makers, guiding them towards decisions that improve access to education, health, and economic opportunity. With every hour of their time, volunteers multiply their impact through the enormous power of advocacy -- whether it’s helping change policy to support millions of families putting food on the table or helping raise billions of dollars for the world’s most vulnerable children. Backed by the in-depth research and legislative expertise of staff, RESULTS advocates realize the incredible power they possess to use their voices to change the world.
Description
For over 40 years, RESULTS and RESULTS Educational Fund have been shining light on critical, effective solutions to poverty. By combining the powerful voices of civic advocates with research and oversight of U.S. anti-poverty efforts at home and abroad, RESULTS has been changing government priorities and people’s lives.
"I saw RESULTS on VolunteerMatch, but I wasn’t sure what advocacy was. Before that, I wasn’t really aware of the way different government policies impacted me. But RESULTS gave me a whole new perspective. I learned that if you want change, first you need to see what members of Congress are doing and build connections." - Yaseer Khanani
"I became an advocate because I wanted to be more involved in an organization that strives to make positive change. I really appreciate how genuine and dedicated everyone is to the RESULTS mission." - Sunjay Menon
"At RESULTS, we advocate for the issues that are close to my heart, like global health, education, and poverty eradication. I get to talk about issues that I witness throughout my professional and personal life. I can effect change by raising my voice." - Shabina Hussein
